{"id":114,"date":"2010-09-25T08:29:32","date_gmt":"2010-09-25T13:29:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/jebware.com\/blog\/?p=114"},"modified":"2010-09-25T08:29:32","modified_gmt":"2010-09-25T13:29:32","slug":"on-third-party-android-markets","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jebware.com\/blog\/?p=114","title":{"rendered":"On Third-Party Android Markets"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;m not sure what happened in the last two weeks, but I got directly contacted by three different companies. \u00a0All three have third-party Android markets, and they wanted me to participate. \u00a0That&#8217;s all well and good; I have a moderately successful freeware app, so I&#8217;m getting used to companies emailing me out of the blue to tell me about their Android-related products. \u00a0Two of these companies started with short email pitches of why I should participate, and left the ball in my court to act. \u00a0I&#8217;m not going to name these companies here, so that their names aren&#8217;t associated in any way with what comes next. \u00a0When I found some time, I looked at what they had built, read through their developer agreements, and signed up. \u00a0Win-win.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Appslib, on the other hand, is <strong>wildly unprofessional<\/strong>. \u00a0Here&#8217;s the first email<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/jebware.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/09\/email-the-first-redacted1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-117\" title=\"email-the-first-redacted\" src=\"http:\/\/jebware.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/09\/email-the-first-redacted1-300x147.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"147\" srcset=\"https:\/\/jebware.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/09\/email-the-first-redacted1-300x147.jpg 300w, https:\/\/jebware.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/09\/email-the-first-redacted1.jpg 583w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 85vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>Well that&#8217;s interesting, I certainly didn&#8217;t sign up for any account on my own. \u00a0I would have remembered that. \u00a0I&#8217;ll just ignore them and hope they go away.<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/jebware.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/09\/email-the-second.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-120\" title=\"email-the-second\" src=\"http:\/\/jebware.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/09\/email-the-second-300x155.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"155\" srcset=\"https:\/\/jebware.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/09\/email-the-second-300x155.jpg 300w, https:\/\/jebware.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/09\/email-the-second.jpg 711w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 85vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>Thanks for posting my application? \u00a0I didn&#8217;t post a thing. \u00a0This is getting pretty pushy.<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/jebware.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/09\/email-the-third-redacted.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-119\" title=\"email-the-third-redacted\" src=\"http:\/\/jebware.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/09\/email-the-third-redacted-300x123.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"123\" srcset=\"https:\/\/jebware.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/09\/email-the-third-redacted-300x123.jpg 300w, https:\/\/jebware.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/09\/email-the-third-redacted.jpg 946w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 85vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>Huh.
